Desert and skyline, souks and malls, and Indian food everywhere — how to plan a quick, easy first trip to Dubai from India.

Why Dubai works as a first trip

Dubai is barely three hours from much of India, extremely well connected, and built for visitors. There is a large Indian community, Indian food is everywhere, and the mix of old souks and modern skyline gives a satisfying amount of variety in a short trip. Indian passport holders have straightforward visa options — confirm the current rule before booking.

It suits families and nervous first-timers especially well: everything is organised, safe, and easy to book, from desert safaris to theme parks.

Old and new in a few days

Balance the glossy side with the older city. Spend a morning around Dubai Creek with the gold and spice souks and a short abra boat ride, then a day on the icons — the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and the fountain show. Add a desert safari for dunes and a sunset, and a beach afternoon at Jumeirah.

If you have an extra day, Abu Dhabi — the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Louvre — is an easy add-on by road.

Timing and budget

Go between November and March; the summer months from June to August bring extreme heat that limits what you can do outdoors. A four-to-five-day trip runs roughly ₹50,000 to ₹1,00,000 per person depending on your hotel and how many paid attractions you add.

Use the Metro for the main sights and ride-hailing for the rest, dress modestly at religious sites, and book big-ticket attractions online in advance to skip queues.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do Indian travellers need a visa for Dubai?

Yes, but the options are straightforward for Indian passport holders, including tourist visas arranged through airlines, hotels, or agents, and visa-on-arrival eligibility for those holding certain US, UK, or Schengen visas. Confirm the current rules before booking.

What is the best time to visit Dubai?

November to March, when the weather is pleasant for outdoor sightseeing and desert safaris. Avoid June to August, when summer temperatures are extreme.

How many days do you need in Dubai?

Four to five days is enough for the main city sights, a desert safari, some beach time, and an optional day trip to Abu Dhabi.
